Aldridge Transport Museum

The former Aston Manor Road Transport Museum displays some of its collection of buses, trucks and a tram.

  Opening Times:
10.30 - 16.00 Tuesdays, weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays (closed Christmas an New Year).
  Admission Details:
£4 Adults, £2 Child, £11 Family (two adults and up to three children).

Event Days: £6 Adult, £2 Child, £15 Family. (includes one programme).

Normal admission charge for collectors' fair.
  Transport Details:
Bus services from both Walsall and Birmingham including the 6, 7 and 997 from Walsall, with the 7 running down Northgate where alighting at the first stop means a short walk to Shenstone Drive.

From Birmingham are the 997 and 937A, the latter also using Northgate.

If alighting in the centre of Aldridge, walk along the B4152 (Northgate) for about half a mile to Shenstone Drive which is on the left after a mini roundabout.

Black Country Living Museum

For bus enthusiasts, a highlight of the Black Country Living Museum is its trolleybus service, which supplements a narrow gauge electric tramway on Wednesdays and Sundays and is the longest linear operated trolleybus service in the UK.

There is also a motorbus collection, which includes a West Bromwich Daimler CVG6, a BMMO D9 and a West Riding Guy Wulfrunian.

  Opening Times:
March-October: Daily 10.00 - 17.00; November-March: Wednesday to Sunday 10.00 - 16.00.
  Admission Details:
£19.95 adults, £17.95 Senior (65+), £9.95 child (aged 3-16) / students.

Family tickets: Two adults and up to Three Children £58.35; Two Adult and Two Children £50; One Adult and up to Three Children £41.70.

Parking is £3.50 per car. Group rates are available for parties of 15 or more.

Discounts on tickets are available if booked online.

Nearest railway station is Tipton, 1 mile from the museum.

Bus services 11 / 11A (Walsall - Merry Hill), 24 (Merry Hill - Dudley - Foxyards Estate) and 229 (Dudley - Bilston) pass the museum.

Coventry Transport Museum

Containing a collection of more than 230 cars and commercial vehicles, plus cycles and motorcycles. Around 60% of the collection is displayed in themed galleries telling the story of road transport and the motor industry in and around Coventry and is rotated periodically to ensure that the other 60% in secure storage eventually appears on public view.

There are Coventry Corporation Daimlers, a Blue Bus Daimler CD650, whilst a Maudslay Marathon built in nearby Alcester is housed at the museum.

Open every day except 24 - 26 December and 1 January from 10.00 - 17.00.

Last admission is 16.30.

Admission to the Coventry Transport Museum is free for Coventry Residents.

Severn Valley Railway

Using a preserved railway line in the Severn Valley, the railway runs from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth passing through beautiful surroundings and villages such as Bewdley, Highley and Arley.

Run by volunteers, you can go back in time and ride the many steam engines that Severn Valley Railway have preserved.

Severn Valley Railway also host special events throughout the year including Santa's Special at Christmas.

Most weekends and School / Public Holidays throughout the year.

Prices vary depending on any events happening on the railway, and where you may want travel to and from.

Kidderminster Rail station is next to the Severn Valley Railway Station that is situated in Kidderminster.

Kidderminster bus station is a short walk of about 10 minutes from the town centre.

The Transport Museum, Wythall

The Transport Museum, Chapel Lane, Wythall, near Birmingham has three halls with a wide range of exhibits displayed in a manner that is attractive to the general public (especially interested children), as well as enthusiasts.

It has around 90 buses and coaches, mainly Midlands connected, a miniature railway, fire engines and the largest battery-electric vehicle collection in the UK.

  Opening Times:
11.00 - 16.30 (10.30 - 17.00 on major operating days), Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, 28 March to 28 October. Also 11.00 - 16.30 Wednesdays during school holidays and half terms.

Last admission is 30 minutes before closing time.
  Admission Details:
£5 (£7 on major operating days). Reduced prices for children. Family tickets also available.

Admission tickets can be upgraded to an all-day bus riding ticket at extra charge of £5 on major operating days.
  Transport Details:
The museum operates a service from Birmingham to the museum on major operating days.

Rail access is about a 25 minute walk from Wythall Railway Station.
