The new Stourbridge Interchange will open to the public on Sunday 22 April 2012. It will be one of the first major building projects to benefit from
Centro's vision 'Transforming Bus Travel' - which aims to make significant improvements to local bus travel for people in the West Midlands.
The new interchange has an impressive, eye catching facilities building in the centre which provides passengers with an attractive, light and airy environment. The majority of bus services will stop here, while others will use the adjacent waiting area within the interchange which is also of a high quality, spacious design to enhance passenger circulation and comfort.
The new facilities include:
Toilets and baby changing provision.
A convenience store.
Seating at each stand.
Electronic passenger information boards.
Monitored CCTV and help points.
Two cycle shelters.
An internal public address system.
Automatic doors at each stand that only open when a bus arrives.
A staffed information point.
Bus station supervisors on site.
A new lift that links the subway to the main facilities building.
Tactile signage and Braille signs.
A shaded block paved way finding system within the bus interchange buildings.
An audio system which can be activated with an audio key fob.
A new crossing on Foster Street East.
